What’s happening?!

This post is all about my (our) recent trip downtown this past weekend to check out Cut & Paste Chicago.

Overall the event was pretty cool, it’s a pretty unique type of competition. I like to think of it as the “Iron Chef” of the design world, lol, maybe that that’s what it should be called – Iron Designer? Sweet.

We rolled into the event pretty deep with Chase Talon, Joe Gonzalez and Justin Wolf. All local designers from NWI. We all ran into people from college and I even ran into some one from High School?! I questioned at that point if I was at my home town bar, but then quickly smacked my face and reminded myself I was not, thank jeebus!

Anyways, if your not familiar with the event check out Cut & Paste it’s pretty much a live , on the fly design competition. We didn’t compete in the main event but, myself, Joe, and Chase all competed in the “Audience Competition” on a Diesel shirt.

Joe designed something crafty, Chase designed something nasty (yet at the same time brilliant), and I designed something , um,.. but I cannot really remember it…. maybe I’ll win it!

We had a great time, met lots of good people and ended the night asking for free beer. Thank to Chase, I “think” it was free. Check out the fellas together in the picture below. Notice the two custom shirts, made by yours truly. Nerd’n for life!
